Labeled as "Hymenicus varius Dana, Port Stephens, Haswell type 1882". Specimens (1 male and 1 female) re-identified by C. d'Udekem d'Acoz on 30.11.2016, in using Poore (2004). These specimens belong to a series of crustaceans received in 1882 by the RBINS and abusively referred as topotypes.
