Labeled as "Hymenicus varius Dana, Port Stephens, Haswell type 1882". Specimens (1 male and 1 female) re-identified by C. d'Udekem d'Acoz on 30.11.2016, in using Poore (2004). These specimens belong to a series of crustaceans received in 1882 by the RBINS and abusively referred as topotypes. No publisherTopotype2015/09/16 11:56:00 GMT+1SpecimenMictyris longicarpus Latreille, 1806 - label

Labeled as "Myctiris [sic] longicarpus Latr. Australia, Port Jackson, Haswell Type 1882. RBINS INV. 113080. There were 6 female and 1 male Mictyris specimens in the tube. The females were indeed Mictyris longicarpus but the male was Mictyris longicarpus (det. d'Udekem d'Acoz 2016, in using the handbook of Poore 2004 and other references). The erroneously identified was removed from the sample. These specimens belong to a collection of Australian crustaceans received from Haswell in 1882 by the RBINS; all these specimens are registered as "topotypes" (most of them abusively). The type locality given by Latreille (1806) is vague and does not refer specifically to Australia; it runs as follows: "In Oceano Indiae orientalis". The name Mictyris longicarpus is used herein in the sense defined by Poore (2004).No publisherTopotype2015/09/16 11:56:00 GMT+1SpecimenMictyris platycheles H. Milne Edwards, 1852 - male - label

There is a spelling mistake on the label. Myctiris should have been Mictyris. No publisherCopyright: RBINS / DIGIT-4 Belspo Licence: CC BY NC NDTopotype2015/09/16 11:56:00 GMT+1ImageMictyris platycheles H. Milne Edwards, 1852 - male -dorsal view.

Queensland, "Haswell type 1882". RBINS INV. 113079. Two adult females and four juveniles. These specimens belong to a batch of specimens received by the RBINS from Haswell in 1882 as "types" and abusively registered as topotypes. The specimens were examined in 2016 by C. d'Udekem d'Acoz; they do not seem to fit with the description of any Mictyris species known in 2016.No publisherTopotype2015/09/16 11:56:00 GMT+1Specimen
