Description: Figured Specimen

Diagnose (donnée par Kawasaki) : Stems and branches divided into nodes and internodes, the surface of the internodes longitudinally ridged and grooved. From the nodes are given off leaf-sheaths, usually split into two almost equal multinerved lobes with short blunt teeth along their margins, spreading out in apparent! y opposite pairs at an angle of 45°-90° to the stems. The lobes vary in form, mostly broadly oval, but sometimes oblong-lanceolate, consisting of 8-37 linear-lanceolate segments each with a faint median vein united with prominent longitudinal suturallines. The segments are unequal in length, the lateral ones generally shorter than the median, and each broadest about the upper part. Median vein as wells as suturai line does not fork or anastomose, approaching one another at the base with slight inclination to converge toward the apex, the former terminating in the bluntly toothed apex and the latter in the notch.
